The Fuel Bank
The Windsor Community Service Council may be able to help people in times of financial need through the Windsor Fuel Bank. The goal of the Fuel Bank is insure that no one is cold or goes without electricity. During the winter months, grants are awarded to households to see people through the winter after they have exhausted their state benefits and in the spring and summer months to prevent the disconnection of electricity. Windsor residents are invited to complete an application form to determine eligibility according to household size and financial need. Funding for the Fuel Bank is made from private donations and federal emergency money.
In 2008, 47 households received assistance in the form of a grant through the Windsor Fuel Bank.
Grants are provided for deliverable fuels during the winter season as well as assistance with electricity during the summer season.
